My KT7-RAID FSB is running right now at 115 MHz at default I/O voltage. What FSB are you running and what are your voltage settings?

Will raising the I/O voltage allow for higher FSB settings? Will raising the I/O voltage ahvea large effect on heat generation? I rather not destroy my MB in the process.

I cant' max out my new mosel rev2...it's only running 153 2-2-2:(... I feel the need...THE NEED FOR SPEED!!

Comments and insight will be greatly appreciated.

P.S. - I know this should go in the OC or MB forum, but more people will see it here. Let's help one another to OC higher.

Viperoni:

That's understandable...your Duron's probably making bacon (running hot). My TB 900 temps are reaching about 35-40C during game play. My TB has a three year warranty so I'm not going to unlock it...if I burn it up OCing it's technically covered under warranty because I have not modified the chip at all.

I would really like to get my FSB to 120+ to see if my mosel rev2 can handle 160+ 2-2-2...it running like a rock at 153 2-2-2.

I'm wondering if replacing the chipset fan with a copper HSF combo will be required to run my MB with higher I/O voltages. Does anyone have some experience here?

The best I can get out of my KT7's FSB is 103. I don't feel too bad though because I've got a Duron 700 running stable at 1083MHz (1.85V, 10.5x103). Temp general hovers around 38C.

Actually, with my big 120mm YS Tech front intake fan OFF, I get about 27c case temp and about 45c processsor temp after a LOT of CS.
With the case fan on LOW (7v), it gets about 22c case temp and 44c processor temp.

113mhz with a socket 7 cooler on the northbridge and the io voltage to 3.6. Perfectly stable.

It will do 114 and run all benchmarks and games but I only run it at 105

Humm...seems like I should be pretty happy with 115 at default voltage. All of my peripherals are well known for handling out of spec AGP/PCI settings.

Maybe I'll up the voltage a little and see if I can get 120 FSB...although I hate have to dump all my BIOS settings and re-enter them all when the stupid system won't post. And I really don't need to cook my chipset right now...see as I'm a little strapped for cash.

BTW...anyone interested in my (2) 128MB sticks of Mushkin Rev1.5? They have the 7ns mosel chips and run stable at 153 2-2-2 in my KT7-RAID. I only ran them at 153 2-2-2 for a couple of days because I was running a C-Orb on my TB:eek:...I upgraded to an alpha PAL6035 with a sanyo denki fan. Great HSF combo...it's quiet and provides fanastic heat dissipation (sp?).

I will be doing a FS post in a couple of days...I got to get my paypal account verified first. But if your interested, PM me and I'll give you first shot.

Mine only does 110, anything above cause all kinds of video glitches. Perhaps thats the agp bus speed and not the mb itself.
