ABIT KT7 and FSB

When I go to softmenu to increase the FSB, the fsb is shaded and I can't modify it.

Am I missing something?

Thanks,

Larry

You have to set your multiplier to the manual setting. Then, the FSB settings are adjustable. Just a quick note... I haven't had much luck with changing the FSB on this mobo. The VIA KT133 chipset isn't very forgiving in this area. 🙁

Yes, I have unlocked it. I am running at 850 right now 8.5X100, just wanted to see if I could play with FSB

Compellor

I have the mb set at 8.5 x 100, wouldn't this be a manual setting?
Is there some other place that I need to set something so I can modify the FSB?

Thanks,

Larry

I have found the KT7 with the KT133 chipset to be one of the best
for overclocking the FSB. Zero problems or issues getting 2 of them
to run Duron 600 at 112*8.5, or 952MHz. Memory at +33 or 145MHz.

I think many have troubles because of other components in there
system not being able to handle the higher bus speeds, such as
network, sound, drives, or video cards, or they simply forget to
increase the CPU voltage.

Works here with:
Win98se.
(system 1)2 PC100 128meg, or (system 2)2 PC133 128megs.
(#1)Voodoo3 3k AGP or (#2)GeForce2 GTS 32meg.
(#1) STB powergragh 64v+, or (#2) Canopus Total3d 128v PCI (multimonitor setup).
SB Live Value!
Generic cases with 250w.
Dlink PCI NIC sharing Video IRQ.
Avermedia TV '98 tuner/capture card.
ISA USR 56k sportster.
External serial BestData 56k modems teamed to 112k
WD 20.5g 7200 ATA66.
Sony 8x/4x/32x
Epson 860 USB printer.
Logitech Wingman Formula Force Feedback USB.
Umax USB scanner.

That's great, but my question is that even tho I have oc'ed to 850, I still can't use the FSB settings as they are greyed out.

I manually change the multiplier, but don't have the option for changing FSB for some reason.

Is there somewhere in the BIOS I must change something?

Thanks,

Larry

dude, you just need to change cpu speed or multiplier (whatever it's called) to user defined. Then you can change cpu/pci fsb cpu + fsb. It's the same way for voltage, just change it to user defined...

OK, Will look to see if there is a "USER DEFINED" setting. Wasn't looking for that.

Thanks,

Larry

Thanks Folks, found the setting to do this with a your help.

Didn't matter, My system just won't boot even with an fsb of 101.

Go figure.

I got my Fsb to 117 without trouble and multiplier to 6.5 using stock voltage and AMD HSF waiting for better HSF before I go much higher.
