Abit KT7 and Duron default voltage

Hello,

I have an abit kt7, with a duron 600. It boots fine, if I leave it to the motherboard to supply the default voltage, it says 1.5; and on the screen where it shows the temperature, etc (don't remember the name, I don't have the screen in front of me) it says 1.57. Is this the right voltage? Or should I change it to 1.6? By the way, it's a week 26 duron (L1 bridges cut). Can this be the cause of HD-TACH crashing and 3dmark giving me BSODs?

Thanks!

if you got a duron 600 and a KT7 why dont you OC it???? its POINTLESS to get that combo unless you overclock

the voltage should jump but 1.57 seems a bit high
just use a pencil to connect the bridges (thats what i did)

other than that, i dont really know whats going on.....

I have already unlocked the pins with the pencil, but I want to take the results for 600 mhz and compare when I go up. But since the benchmarking programs crash, or don't run at all, I'm trying to figure out where the problem is.

Hmmn, I just helped a friend fix up a Duron 700 on an A7V and the motherboard BIOS hardware monitor reports that the voltage is 1.64V...is this normal or what?

BTW, how do I know if I have successfully unlocked a Duron? If I set the dipswitches correctly and see it post at some speed other than 700(750 or 850 for example) does that mean I have unlocked it successfully?

I got the same combo except for a 650 duron. It's happily oc'd to 850, seems a hair unstable at 900 with this cheapie hsf.

I noticed similar voltage readings, regardless of what I set them in a bios they were always a bit higher in viahm. I didn't worry too much about it, the deviation didn't seem excessive.

Just a note here...I had some instability problems after getting the board, but I upgraded to the new beta bios (the ul version) and changed some settings according to this web page (http://go.to/kt7faq) and now I'd have to say that this is the most stable system I've ever built, and that's quite a few. Hasn't crashed in 3 days of concentrated efforts to make it break....
