Abit KT7 and duron 1.3 wont play together

Sold an 850 mhz machine to a friend and he wanted to upgrade to a 1.3 duron. We upgraded the bios and restarted fine on the 850. We took the 850 tbird out, slapped in the 1.3 with the heatsink and all, booted up, and it hangs after identifying the cpu.

We reset the bios but it still hangs repeatedly.

We made sure it was set to 1.3 and 100 mhz fsb respectively. Also checked the other settings and they look good.

Whatever we do, we cannot boot up past the processor screen and its very frustrating

what powersupply are you using?

What bios are you running? How big is your power supply?

Can you get into the Bios?

I have a friend of mine that has a KT7-raid with a 1Ghz Duron that we unlocked and he has at 1.1Ghz, he can't go higher as there is not enough power from the power supply to run the system.

using generic 350 watt power supply that I had previously used with a 1.4 Tbird.

I was thinking that perhaps since this is the morgan core that his motherboard may be older than the 1.3 revision and as such, isnt compatible..
