Has anybody(im sure) gotten their ata66 drive to be recognized as an ata 66 drive buy the bios?

I have a seagate barracuda 28gb 7200rpm ata66 drive that posts as a ata33 drive. IT is by itself in themaster ide channel,
my other ata33 8gb quantum and cdrom is in my secindary channel.

Is there some trick to it? Is this only for seagate?

Did your drive come with a utility disk that can change the interface from ATA 33 to ATA 66? My Western Digital 30.7 gig did, and I had to change it because I previously set it to ATA 33 (for compatability) on my old Pentium II rig. Check their website to see if you can download it.

yah

the second bios should recognize your drive.
make sure that you have an ata66 cable connected to the drive and that the cables are going into the blue ctsth motherboard (or white, i forgot what color they are)
