Abit KT7 and an AMD 1.4 266 can this work?

Will an AMD Athlon 1.4 (266) work on Abit's KT7 mobo with lets say a bios update??? thanks



got this off abit's page:

Add new option "1200 above" for high speed Athlons with 100FSB. KT7 / KT7-RAID / KT7A / KT7A-RAID / KT7E only support 1.4G(100)
Athlon with L1 bridges disconnected. Check L1 before you buy a CPU please!

ok but i haveing probs finding 1.4 (200) and if i do find one i know what l1 bridges are but is there a way to know if there disconnected
before you buy it and if not is there a way to disconnected them your self????

It will boot up at 1050MHz but you can go into the bios and put the multiplier up to 12.5 (1250 and above), then you'll be running at 1.3GHz. Unless you play with the FSB, that's the most you'll get.

ok dude i was looking at the 1.4 price and they seem to be around 150 hmm and 1.3 around 110 i think when i updated my bios i could set
my speed to 1300 not sure have to check bios if so i go with a 1.3 my 1.2 is fast but just want to go faster haha.....thanks thoe
