i have an abit kt7-raid with a 900mhz thuderbird and i'm having a problem with win2k.

whenever I boot off the CD to install the OS my system seems to hang on the "Setup is inspecting your computer's hardware configuration"

i'm installing the OS on a SCSI drive and i've disconnected all IDE drives for the time being.

i've gone into the bios and loaded the "fail-safe" settings, but that hasn't resolved the problem.

i didn't have this problem trying to install WinME. if anyone knows what to do, i'd really appreciate the input.

When windows is installing you see the hit F6 key for drivers you need drivers for the 370 Raid

here's the deal... it wont even load

the odd thing is that one it actually did go beyond the black screen saying it was inspecting my hardware config.

at the moment i'm stuck using Linux... which is nicer than i thought.. but i still don't have the functionality (game playing ablity) I need with win2k.

any other suggestions?

I am having the same exact problem as you do.

My board is Abit BX133 RAID coupled with P3 750.

I have 2 WD harddisk prepared for RAID 1. Whenever I load the OS, or try installing Win2K server, a blue screen would comes up with warning: Inaccessible boot device. Sometimes it is "unable to write to pagefile" (or something similar)

I played with it and get 10 more exact same blue screen before I gave up and decided to go with software RAID1 on Win2K.

This sucks. I hated highpoint ATA66 controller all my life on my BE6-2. The new RAID controller did not impress me one bit.

Anyone with thoughts please shoot :)

I solved the intial problem I was having that has given me a new problem now.

The solution was something embarassing.

For some reason the VCORE on was set to 1.65 instead of 1.75. I changed that and presto... problem solved.

NOW however, I'm getting the following problem.

I prep for the win2k installation... meaning i partition the drive, the drive is formatted then the files are copied to the partition, and everything is set to go for the graphical installation.

When the system reboots I get the following error:

"Windows 2000 could not start because of a computer disk hardware configuration problem.
Could not read from the selected boot disk. Check boot disk path and disk hardware.
Please check the Windows 2000(TM) documentation about hardware disk configuration and your
hardware reference manuals for additional information."

I have RedHat 7.0 installed on a partition of the SCSI drive that i'm installing to... RedHat is booting off of a floppy though.

This really sucks... if it's not one problem it's another.
