Abit KR7a-raid power up problem

I'm running an Athlon XP 1600+ on my KR7A mobo. When i boot up, it posts 1050 mhz. I've seen this problem posted everywhere, but mine seems to be a little different then everyone elses. I can power one fine at first and can go into bios and change to 1600+(133). I can exit and save. Sometimes the system will shutdown as soon as I exit the bios but most of the time it will reboot at 1600+ fine. When it shuts down just after the save and exit, i can try to power up and it will for like 2 secs and then back off again. This is one part. The other problem is when I manually power off after adjusting this setting in the bios and reboot. Windows will open and everything work fine. It will power back up fine just after I power down but if i wait about 10 minutes or more, the computer will do nothing. No lights, fans, nothing come on. I can reset cmos and it takes be right back to the beginning with the 1050 mhz post. Can someone please help???

Go here and get the 6N Bios, I did the modded one but you have to rename it if you use it. I had to use awdflash with the modded one.
Also the latest Hotpoint raid controllers are here also. Look here

I have KR7A and 1600+ also, with 6G bios.

The bios doesn't seem to automatically recognize the cpu well at all.

If I recall correctly, on first boot my bios had the multiplier set to 12. Just setting the cpu to 1600+ didn't correct the incorrect multiplier setting. Until the multiplier setting is correct for your 1600+ (10.5), the bios won't run any fsb but 100MHz and operation will be erratic.

Just set cpu to manual and multiplier to 10.5 and fsb to 133 (or more) and see if the problem clears up.

Hope this helps!

I just realized that I dont have to reset cmos to power back up. All I have to do is unplug power cord for a few seconds and then plug back up and it will power back on and will recoganize the cpu correctly. Everything works correctly except powering up after about a 15 minute power down. I put rubber washers on mobo to make sure it wasn't shorting out.
