Abit KR7A and Alpha PAL8045

I currently have a 1800+ running at 1.53GHz, but would like to oc.

Will the PAL8045 work with the Abit KR7A? I plan on purchasing an Alpha from newegg.com. It sells for $47. According to the description, it comes with a DELTA 80MM fan. Model: AFB0812SH-F00. Specs: 4000RPM, 46.1 CFM.

Is this a good fan? It seems pretty good to me. I don't want a loud system. I want a quiet, yet fast machine.

Also, what about a shim, is one these necessay? Newegg sells them for $5. It is all copper.

I plan to get some Arctic Silver II as well.

What do you think of this setup?

No, they are only good for those that have trouble installing a heatsink properly.

It fits great and cools great also! No problems whatsoever! BTW.......don't mess with a "shim"..........
