I bought the new Abit KR7A-133Raid board recently. I'm in the process of buying other parts to finish the system. Anyway, my question is does anyone know of any issues with this board and the new Maxtor 7200rpm ATA133 drives. My reason for asking is under the reviews at Newegg.com someone wrote that these two aren't compatible. Here's what they wrote:
"Beware of this hard drive if you are building a new pc using an Abit KR7A-RAID. There is a compatibility problem with the two right now that won't let you even get to the Windows install screen. It took me all night to get it going, had to turn auto detect off, hook the mobo up to my old drive, do a raindance, etc. before it would go. Wait for a BIOS update for the Abit KR7A RAID before building with this drive. Other than that, it's a fast, cheap drive, and I've had no problems with it. "
I've checked out Paul's Unofficial ABIT KG7-RAID and KR7-RAID FAQ and there is no mention of the issue there. I would love any feedback about the issue.
Thanks
