I'm going to buy a KT266A motherboard. I chose the ABit version, because it has stuff I don't need, given the other manufacturers pack in everything with their solutions.

At MMave there are 2 KR7A Raids 133, one is said to be retail and one is OEM. I figure there is no difference can some one else comment on that (except the price) I want to have a system to use until Christmas 2003 after "Hammer", because the fastest CPU i Have is a Athlon 550 and I cant play MOHAA (I can but my frame rate drops once 2 people are in front of me, I feel like crawling)

I currently have:
40 GB Seagate Barracuda IV

Samsung 8X DVD (Black)

HP 8100 CDRW 4x4X24

Realtek PCI 10/100Mbit Network Card

Radeon LE 32MBDDR

Sound Blaster Live (Or I'll use a different sound card I have)

HP Keyboard

Logitech Optical Mouse

Antec 165 Watt Power Supply

Thermaltake Crystal Orb

Thermaltake Volcano 7 HSF

3 Vantec Stealth Fans 80mm

2 Panaflo's 80mm

Windows 2000 Pro

STUFF I NEED:
ABit Motherboard KR7A-133 (Retail or OEM)
CPU (I want a Duron, then I want a Athlon when the "Hammer" comes out
PC2700 DDR Ram (WHich do YOU recommend?)
Power Supply (Antec, Enermax?? ) and How many WATTS???
USB 2.0 PCI Card (Via Chipset or NEC newer version??)
Firewire Card (Texas Instruments??)

I did not see much of a difference with the KT266A and the KT333 except newer RAM features and bit fatser that 266A. If I can find the 333 cheaper I would get it, but the 266A is cheaper right?

KGB,

In addition to a new motherboard and a new CPU, you will also want to buy a new graphics card. The Radeon LE is a crippled version of the original Radeon, and as such you may not be able to play MOHAA even with the fastest available CPU. Thus, your graphics board - and not just your CPU and RAM - is your bottleneck.
