So is this motherboard still a viable piece for a big upgrade? I've got a 3500+, 2gigs and a 6600GT.. eventually gonna drop in a new video card but possibly sooner a new CPU.

I've been out of the loop with motherboards for a while.. these new quad cpu's are AM2+; would they work or am I stuck with an X2?

thanks

Therefore, the Phenom processor does not require a new motherboard with Socket AM2+. The CPU will run in a socket AM2 board as well without any problems. In this case, the processor reverts to either Hypertransport 2.0 or 1.0, depending on the motherboard and operates completely normally.

sorry to bother you guys...
