hi there. i'm new, and i'm not that smart when it comes to computers, but i'm trying to learn. i've built a computer once before and had success with it, and now on my 2nd build i ran into some trouble.

OK first of all, i assembled everything and loaded windows and everything went pretty smooth. i got all the drivers loaded and stuff and was set up running dual monitors on my video card (this computer is for a home music recording studio) and it was all working. then i shut off the computer and went to install a wireless internet adapter in the PCI slot, and when i went to turn the computer back on, nothing happened. no post, no beep. all the fans turned on and i could hear the DVD drive spinning up, and the HDD's sounded like they were working also, but nothing was happening on screen.

i tried to reset the CMOS, i switched off the PSU, set the jumpers, unplugged all the power connectors, took out the battery, then put everything back, reset the jumper, and fired it up but still had no action. i tried removing the wireless card and it didn't make a difference. i checked all power connectors for tightness, check the DVI connectors, and every other little thing, and still nothing.

so i have no clue what just happened, and hopefully someone can give me some ideas to try out. i pretty much need this computer to be up and running tomorrow! could it possibly be a problem with the graphics card? any ideas would be appreciated, thanks!

the setup (everything's new):
ABIT KN8 SLI mobo
GIGABYTE GV-NX76T256D-RH video card
AMD Athlon 64 FX-55 San Diego 2.6ghz processor
AcBel 500w PSU
2GB Patriot Signature RAM
windows XP home

pardon my 'computer grammar', i might have said a few things wrong but hopefully you guys get the idea. like i said before i'm sort of dumb at computers unfortunately.

The suspect could be your power supply. It's a relative new PSU and not too much of a case history as of yet. Swapout the PSU and check.

No go?

Next, connect video card to single monitor, switchout video card ...........
