Even though this belongs in the Motherboard forum, I'll add my two cents anyway. I love Abit. Everyone here knows that and I get my shorts gnawed on all the time for it. However, in this case, I'd stay away from the KG7 UNTIL Abit sorts out the issues that folks seem to be having with the board.

Seems that the power management on the board is off because it likes to fry video cards in the AGP slot. Not funny at anytime and particularly unfunny if you have a $300 GF3 in there. (Poor ToBeMe!:()

I emailed Abit and asked them about this problem. That was about a week ago. The fact that they haven't gotten back to me yet is kind of a signal. Or at least I'm taking it as such that there's something wrong with the board and they haven't yet decided what to do with it yet.

If I was going to buy a DDR mobo today, I'd get the Gigabit 7DXR, the Asus A7M266 or the Epox 8K7A+, in that order. The ECS board with the SiS chipset is too new and some folks have been experiencing probs. Also, the board is brand new on the market and bound to have bugs and issues that will surface soon and get fixed in later iterations of the board.

My two cents.

thanks... I have had 2 BH6 boards... thought it was bad luck that they both had the 2nd IDE controller die... found out it was my LS120! I hope ABIT gets it figured out, looks like a good board... I was looking at the Giga-Byte... I have the 7DX... but the one I have is OEM and will only do 200MHz unless I find a way of soldering on a jumper block in the place it is missing!

I had both the ECS (with the SIS chipset) and the KG7. The ECS had a bad AGP slot so I had to RMA it. I'm using the KG7 right now and call me lucky or some thing but its been running almost 4 days straight and no reboots yet.
