Abit KG7 BIOS question

I have an Abit KG7-Raid with a 1.4Gig CPU (not XP). I want to upgrade the CPU but the Abit site says that the fastest chip it supports is the Palimino 2100+ and Thoroughbread 2000+. That BIOS is from April. Does anyone know if those top speeds are accurate (ie can I use a faster chip without overclocking)? Has anyone heard if Abit is working on a new BIOS to support the new chips?
TIA

I don't think it can support any processor greater than 2200XP. I heard someone got a 2400Tbred to work. But i haven't seen anything factual to that rumor. My KG7 hasn't been broken in yet.

Same info I had heard .... along with rumors that Abit would mod the board to support the newer Tbreds. Here's the best info I have found on the situation and why the cpus currently will not be supported on the KG7 (altho with some modification I am sure it can be done)
