ABIT KG-7 restart problem with XP

I have a an ABIT KG-7 motherboard running winXP, an AMD 1700+, 300W power supply, ATI Radeon 7500 video card. Ever since getting it, it will not restart from a warm boot....it will shut down, then hang....the monitor light will blink as if the computer was completely shut down. I have to hold in the reset button to restart. The Microsoft Knowledge bases has been less than helpfull. Anyone with a similar problem or an idea?

It sounds like a driver issue.

I am assuming it is not an ACPI related thing.

I had a problem like that once with a NIC. I removed it and everything worked fine. Put it back in and had the same problem agian.

Try uninstalling some drivers to see if it goes away.

He said, "...since getting it..." so I assume it's been problematic from the start.

A non-compliant P/S can cause this to happen ? also, it could be an incorrect setting in the BIOS as was suggested by Woodie.
