ABIT KD7 + 2600+?

I was going to get an ABIT KD7 and an athlon xp 2600+.

My question is, will the board use the processor fully (does it support all it's properties), and is it good to place just a single 512mb 333mhz ram chip?

This is my first time building a system

I built the exact same system last week, same processor and mobo. Works well for me, nice and fast. Got one single ddr 2700 333mhz ram chip for it also. No problems...
