Abit KA7 overclock.....Help

i have an abit ka7 with athlon 750mhz proc. i have 2 sticks of kingston pc-133 cas3 128mb ram. How high would i be able to overclock without uping the voltage. and im only talking about a FSB overclock.

u might be able to hit 110 fsb, which is 7.5 x 110 = 825. You shouldn't need the up the voltage for that, and if u do it'd only be marginal. However, you will most likely not get past 110 and even getting to 110 is a feat. Most athlons, slot or socket, do somewhere inbetween default and 10. The best way to overclock is the multiplier, not just for the obvious overclocking superiority, but also because changing the multiplier only affects the CPU, changing the FSB affects the RAM (which in your case is not a problem), and all the periphals. At 110 FSB, the pci slot is running at 37, not a problem for most cards, but for some it may be.

The highest I've ever overclocked my fsb was to around 125 or so. I was hoping I'd be able to hit 133 so that everything else would be spec, but it didn't happen. It was stable enough to run some benchmarks, so upping the voltage might have helped. But I was just messing around to see what I could get. 110 is pretty much a guaranteed overclock. But getting a GFD makes a world of difference.

edit: btw, I'm using a KA7.

you can't really use FSB on the athlon due to the DDR architecture. it's best to slap-on a golden finger to change the multiplier. 110mhz, as mentioned, is about the highest FSB you'll be able to run (220mhz actual DDR)
