Abit KA&-100 wont boot @ FSB 100, Will boot @ 103 ???

Hi to all,
I really think that this forum is full of experienced guys! So pleas help here
Last week (their were a T storm) I heard a click sound (like a electric spark) but the system continue running fine. Next morning when I tried to reboot I got the fans only, No beep and black screen. After many trials, I stumbled on this solution: If I changed the FSB setting manually (using the blue DIPSW) to 103 MHz, it will boot. But it will not boot @ FSB=100 ?

Pleas help me!!

Sys Spec:
AMD Classic 900Mhz (not over clocked)
512Mb Ram (some generic, some Kingstone)
40GB Maxtor on ATA/100 IDE
Voodoo 300
Creative sound PCI 16

hmm does it boot and work successfully at 102 mhz ???
if it does some channel indicating the 100mhz FSB might be fried (although that is dobdly with computers u never know)
anyway I think your athlon should work at 918 mhz .. so that shouldnt be a very big prob ..

You are right, it is not big problem, excpit the USB controller is so sessative to clock speed, and it will not work for FSB speeds other than 100Mhz.
In addition FSB can not be set to 102 from the hardware switches (may from bios), so I can test your theory!!
