Hi I just bought a used ABIT IT7 motherboard and so far I had some difficulities getting the on board sound card to work. I oringially had it disabled when I did a fresh installation of WINDOWS XP, but Then I enabled the sound though BIOS (set to AUTO). I have no other soundcard on my PC (i only have Radeon 9700 PRO & Adaptec 2940UW PCI). The sound card for some reason does not detect though windows XP, and I can't add the drivers. Is there something I did wrong? Do I have to enable it and the reinstall windows XP (i hope not). Or do I have a defected board?

Another thing that is usual is the USB ports. Once they boot up into windows all the ports seem fine. But only 2 of the ports I can plug in my keyboard and have it work in bios. The other ports, will not power my keyboard until Windows starts. And even when windws starts, sometimes I have to take the USB cable out and the plug it back in for windows to detect it.

Any idea what can be wrong and how I could fix it?
Thanks
David

Also another thing that is usual is that the DDR voltage is at 3.18 in every program I monitor, isn't that high? How can i lower that?

Thanks

And also, I forgot to mention, it's running a P4 2.53 C1 stepping chip at 2945mhz and the termpatures reach up to 64C at max louad and 50at idle, are those tempterature normal? I got an alpha and a syono fan on it.

At stock speeds Idle temperature is 45C and full load is 53C is that normal? I mean I have excellent air flow and i have an ALPHA heatsink and a Sunon Ultra Highspeed fan (50.6 CFM @ 3900 RPM, 40.5 dBA).

What would be the expected temperature?

Maybe my AC3 has lost it's effectiveness?

Could the heatsink not be on correctly?

Thanks
