THe abit it7 I have uses two types of PSU plugs. THe large one thats been on all motherboards, and another with 4 pins thats on the p4 boards. should I plug both in? I have an older PSU and I dont have the 4 pin one. Its working fine but I wanna o/c and my 12v is low

yes , you should use both.
The other 4pin connector is a special requirement for the P4. Hence you see the latest PSU labeled as p4-compatible.

Also you can get an adapter for the 4 pin connector.
