Pansy here awaiting a guinea pig with more disposable income. :D

Re: Shimmishim, when you've screwed up a side intake, your self-confidence in modding drops a notch or two.

This Bios Rocks!!!!!!

Just installed it on my IS7. Finally, i'm able to increase my memory voltage passed the stupid 2.8V restriction. Thanks a lot for the link!!!

this link came at a perfect time for me since bios 19 messed up my SATA and going back to 18 didn't fix it. Had nothing to lose so i gave it a shot before returning my motherborad to frys... Now the hidden options are enabled and the SATA actually works again.....

Does IC7 have a Bios update like this??? I could possible get 5:4 ratio at 292fsb to work if I had a bit more juice then 2.78v actual...

Also Shim after 2.9-3.0v do you start to actively cool your ram sticks??? I am thinking of directing a fan with some duct mods to blow on the sticks if I can get it to 3.0v....I have geil ultras too that are rated to 3.1v....

well, first thing to come to mind if you don't want to do the mod is to just try the bios, you can always reflash to your old bios if you don't like it.

another thing is to actually measure the vdimm voltage rather than just take the bios settings for granted. You need to use a multimeter to check. I have heard rumors that the vdimm voltage is not stable on those boards when you get above 3v, but I don't know if that is true or not.

Which BIOS worked for you? Hoe many volts were you able to pump into the DIMMS?

I got me an IS7-E MOBO - I tried both the BIOS available but neither allowed me to increase the volts past the stupid 2.8v that Abit only allow.

All the hidden features are unlocked though so it's a step in the right direction for me.

Maybe I need to do the volt mod, but I would prefer a BIOS MOD :(
