ABIT IS7-E a good pick?

Im thinking of upgrading my computer this weekend and not sure what motherboard/ram i should get. Im looking for a board around $100 and $150 for ram. Is CAS2 worth the price difference? What brand should i go with? Is 512DDR (2x256 dual channel) enough or should i get 1024? This comp is for mainly gaming/school/multi tasking. Specific parts would be alot of help as well as other suggestions for a mobo.
