ABIT IS7 Chipset Fan Too Loud?

ABIT IS7 Chipset Fan Too Loud? Is there anyways of replacing this little blue fan? Very loud............ M/B in generals' great! Dual channel memory bandwitdh sweet!!!! etc...... SATA, FIREWIRE, any advice please, suggestions what to buy?

If you wanna replace it with the newer Abit NB fan, here is the solution. Otherwise you can get passive heatsinks such as Zalman's offering. I'm not sure how much quieter the newer Abit fan is though. Hope this helps!

I'm having the same issue creep up as well... the chipset fan is LOUD LOUD LOUD and whines quit a bit more than one should. I don't get it.

You can't use the Zalman on an abit is7, there are no holes for those screws to go in. Daforce007, how did you do it.? BY the way, i had abit send me the newer heatsink, nad the damn thing, it worked, but after awhile, it poped the little hooks that hold it in off the mothboard, so I flipped the bent metal with the hook, around and used the other side, and soon, that one got popped out. So now there was nothing on the lower part, ( near the agp slot to hold the damn thing on.) SO, I bent the metal that holds the heatsink abit, so it was less springy, and hooked it under the agp card, seems to be holding fine now.

SO I have one of those zalmans, sitting around paid 6$ and shipping for it. WHat a waste.
