Abit IP35E beeping

it boots, I can get into bios.

only video card + ram and cpu + fan is installed.

HDD and optical not installed yet.

I can move around in bios fine, but there is this constant beep.

bip beep bip beep....

and there is red led by atxpwr.

any ideas?

You gotta give a lot more detail than that.

Cpu?
Bios version?
Overclocking or just stock?
Beeping forever in that pattern?
Guessing memory right now, might yank the first module and switch 2nd to first ones slot. It might just be you don't have it seated quite right. If this fix works add the other back.

Describe it in long beeps and short ones.
Is that one short, then one long, one short, one long and on and on repeating forever??

beep codes for your board probably.

If it's like the siren in that post, perhaps you forgot to hook up the fan plug? 🙂

ya 😀 everything was ok except for beeping.

I am using a 3 pin fan on cpu instead and nothing on its "cpu fan header" 🙂

just disabled it and its running 3.1ghz on stock v 😀

thanx for the tip

This happened to me when I first setup my IP35-E. I had the CPU fan plugged into the SYS header. Whoops! I tought something was horribly wrong or not seated properly. What a relief when the BIOS screen showed up and I realized it was just the fan.

the 4-pin CPUFan header will accept a 3-pin plug, it's keyed so that it only fits one way.

After I read your post, I was going to say...the same thing happened to me...only I had a cable wedged in the fan somehow that prevented it from spinning when I first installed my IP35 Pro.

At first I went "Oh shit! What did I do!" but then the PC booted up anyway and I thought "Well, its can't be that bad whatever it is."

Correct, it's that way on most of the latest models AFAIK. Nice of them to accommodate both plugs. One of the rare times someone used their head when designing pc parts 🙂 (asinine motherboard layouts come to mind...mumble grumble).

Glad to hear everything is working out.
