What the hell are the differences between the ABIT IP35 and IP35 Pro? The ABIT site doesn't make it easy to discern with all the adds all over and flashing.

Are there just a few key differences?

PRO has the EZ CMOS reset swith thingy, and 2 PCI-E x16 slots, although the second is x4 when used together, and 2 external SATA
the ip35 has 2 PCI-Ex1 slots, as opposed to the 1 for the PRO

uGuru (best hardware monitor/fan control going from any mobo mfr)
onboard power & reset buttons plus external clearCMOS
2x eSATA
2nd physical x16 (electrical x4) slot
2nd Gigabit LAN
slightly richer BIOS
different cooling

thank you thank you

not sure if I need a Pro ...I mean it's about 30.00 difference. That PCI-e slot can be used for other things right ? Somehow I think that if you don't crossfire the extra PCI--ex1 slot would be more usefull. No uGuru on the base model? Got to have the uGuru! The extrernal CMOS reset is a brilliant idea ...good grief, I could buy the Pro for that alone.

Does the bolt down mod (replacing push pins with bolts on the heatsink to help lower PWM temps) have to be applied to either model still? If it does, do you only have to worry about doing the mod when you're pushing your quad core to the OC limit?

Thanks

Yes, it can be used for a RAID controller or other PCI-E device

Sorry, uGuru only on the Pro.

aaaahh - buying a Pro verison now. Newegg has a great price. I just hope I don't have that lack of contact with heat pipe fiasco. The cold boot problem on my Gigabyte 965 DQ6 nearly makes overclocking very problemativ. I have always liked ABIT boards and glad they're making a return ...I think they have the best chance to surpass ASUS consistantly and not just a few models. Thanks for the excellent help. Seriously. Gooter74, man, I don't know about that problem unles its what I mentioned earlier in this post. Aren't there revisions of this board?
