Abit IP35 Pro vs Gigabyte P35-DS4 ?

Narrowed it down between these two choices. I'm sure both are very rock solid boards. Any reason to choose one over the other though?

Some of my concerns...

Abit IP35 Pro:
1. Will I need to use the bolt mod?
2. Still Corsair PSU issues with some boards?

Gigabyte P35-DS4:
1. No LED Post display, is this a concern?
2. Abit has CMOS reset switch on I/O panel.

Thanks

Unlikely in normal use as it really only affects people running very high overclocks on quads for long periods (e.g. whilst running Prime/Orthos etc.)

2. Still Corsair PSU issues with some boards?
Yes, but the nos. involved compared to those working is very, very small & similar behaviour has also been seen on other non-abit/non P35 mobos.

The LED POST display can be useful for troubleshooting - of course if you don't have a problem then you won't miss it ...
The external clearCMOS again can be handy but hopefully you shouldn't need it that often & you can make your own switch on a cable connected to the clearCMOS header.

Imo the big difference between the 2 mobos is abit's uGuru which is the best mobo manufacturer supplied hardware monitor/fan control going.

I picked up an IP35 Pro a couple of weeks ago and was also concerned about the heatsinks. Fortunately, as far as I could tell, the heatsinks were all in perfect contact with the motherboard. I would have returned the mobo if the heatsinks were not in proper contact (as opposed to performing the "bolt mod).

I am using a Corsair HX620 with my IP35 Pro without any problems. Be aware that some users are having problems with the ICH9R chipset and Raptor HDs. More info is available on the Abit forums.

If you decided to get the IP35 Pro, please clear the CMOS before ever booting the computer. Then "load optimized default" when entering the bios. This procedure is recommened in the user's manual. Following this procedure will save you a few gray hairs.

Please check out the Abit forums for a wealth of info on troubleshooting issues.

I've had great luck getting my IP35 Pro with a Q6600 to 3.6Ghz on air.

Awesome, I have the same set on the way. What cooler are you using?

I am considering both right now as well. If DTS is a concern of your, your might want to read on it. I am building one for my daughter, and she likes movies and music.

Anyone know how well the Tuniq fits on the DS4?
