Hi all

I just assembled the above board with Intel 2Duo E8200 CPU, 2G Corsair Memory, Cool Master Hyper TX2 cooler.

It is running quite stable. Although in BIOS and Abit's utility Guru, showing System and PWM temperature, but on CPU it says "N/A". Is it normal or have I goofed off while installing CPU or Cooler or is it the Mother Board defective. BIOS version is 14 by the way.

Thanks for your thoughts

There's all kinda problems with the temp readings on the Wolfdale processors.

AFAIK, there's no fix at this time.

Enjoy your new rig!

I don't have a Wolfdale CPU, but I'd try updating the BIOS to one of the beta versions. I've used this page as my source on my IP35 Pro: IP35 Pro

Getting "N/A" seems kinda odd. I've seen all kinds of wacky temps but I don't remember an N/A. Does uGuru seem otherwise functional?

You can find the beta bios releases here http://forum.uabit.com/showthread.php?t=122393

Don't expect anything close to accurate temp readings until they fix the bios (again).

But...do those 46C core temps move, or are they fully or partially stuck. Don't be surprised if you have some issues with temp readings.

CoreTemp for me on the IP35-E w/ bios beta 16 rev 1 shows as 25 and 21 idle. Might try upgrading to that bios, see if it makes a difference.

You think that's correct? That's @ 70F. You room temp would hafta be @ 65F or cooler.

My PC is in the basement, and my wife never turns on the heat, and it's the middle of winter in Colorado.

So maybe :).

Hi

I just downloaded Beta BIOS M629B_16.B09.zip unziped it got test.BIN. I tried to flash it, but the Awdflash said it is not Award BIOS. I tried with Runme.Bat changing the old bios 14 to the beta one, I still got the same answer. How do you flash this Beta BIOS. Thanks

I just observed after the computer has stablised, the Temp drift between N/A 3F, but most of the time it stays as N/A.

If you downloaded http://www.lvcoyote.com/M629B_16.B09.zip you shouldn't get test.bin it should be M629B_16.B09 when you unzip

This time I amended Runme.bat with M629B_16.B09. Ran awdflash, it was reading the floppy and at the end it said it is not flash bios. So I am still at the old 14 BIOS. I did change the old awdflash to the new version though. What I am doing wrong ?

I managed to replace 14 with Beta BIOS M629B_16.B09. Here are the results :

Temperature sensor 0 27°C (80°F) [0x1B] (CPU)
Temperature sensor 1 40°C (103°F) [0x28] (System)
Temperature sensor 2 46°C (114°F) [0x2E] (PWM)

It is quite a big improvement, but still it is not quite right. The CPU Temp. should be higher that System Temp. Right now the room Temp. is 24C.

Strange thing is that BIOS counting the whole 2 GB memory. I could not find the switch in BIOS to cancel it expect pressing ESC.

Another peculiarity is that all the fans are set to run SLOW using their individual switches and also set at 8.5 volt in the BIOS, but the RPM of Aux 1 remain the same in both version of the BIOS. I wonder is it the Mobo or the Fan itself.

Fan sensor 0 1860 RPM [0x1F] (CPU)
Fan sensor 1 840 RPM [0xE] (SYS)
Fan sensor 2 1320 RPM [0x16] (AUX1)
Fan sensor 3 900 RPM [0xF] (AUX2)

Thanks for your advice.
