Abit IP35 Pro modding

Hey all,

I am going to replace the heatpipe system on the board, I already purchased the Northbridge heatsink Syba NB Cooler does anyone know of a good CPU cooler that will allow the CPU cooler to be pointed at a 90degree angle? I want the fan placed behind the cooler as well. Mobo Pic

Any suggestions?

What's the purpose of this? That heatpipe was probably just as effective as whatever you purchased. The IP35 Pro can overclock quite high with stock cooling...

Because I have seen the heatpipe system increase overall mobo temps, this leads to a lower overall o/c. Now help me find a cpu cooler! 😛

I am pretty sure the Thermalright Ultra-90 will work but I was looking for a few more options.

That isn't going to help better than the stock cooler. Just improve airflow inside your system.

I already know it will, I have seen it first hand. I am NOT using the stock cooling solutiosn period.

Stock cooling on the IP35 pro is great if you re-seat everything with good thermal compound and do the bolt mod to ensure it's making good contact... I agree with the others that what you are doing will probably end up being worse (and cost you unnecessary $$)...

I could understand and agree if the northbridge heatsink was smaller and had no heatpipe but it's very large and has a heatpipe to redirect heat upwards. I mean come on...just put some good airflow in the case and the cooling will be fine.
