Abit IP35 missing IDE and LAN options in BIOS

I've been trying all night to get my new IP35 to recognize the two IDE CDROM drives attached to it (my HDD are SATA). I flashed BIOS 14 already, hoping that would do it. I've cleared and reconfigured BIOS repeatedly and it still doesn't find them on startup. I see in the manual on p. 2-13 that there are options listed under "OnCHIP PCI Device" for the IDE and LAN controllers. Mine does not have these options, just the 1394 controller.

Can someone who also has an IP35 check your BIOS for me and confirm whether you have the IDE and LAN options under :eek:nChip PCI Device"?

Thanks!

Pull power from PSU. Pull battery and clear CMOS for 1/2 hour. Attach only one IDE drive set as MASTER and one SATA drive. Boot into BIOS and manually set RAM voltage and timing to specs? Do you have OCZ RAMs or non-JEDEC 1.8V RAMs? Set the optical drive (2nd from the bottom of the list) as 1st boot and HDD as 2nd boot. Install windows CD and hit F10 to save.

Thanks for the advice. I'm using that Kingston RAM you recommend.

I'll give this a try when I get home. I'm assuming I'll be able to add my other IDE and SATA drives after this process and have them recognized?

Yup. Be sure to set the 2nd PATA device as a SLAVE.

With 14 BIOS:

Onchip PCI Device
-Onchip Audio Controller
-FP audio
-USB device setting

Onboard PCI Device
-IDE controller
-Network controller
-Invoke boot agent

You may need to reboot about 5x to get the drives detected. Also try another IDE cable. The stiff IDE cable shipped with my new 320GB Seagate/Maxtor 7200 rpm HDD is defective.

Going by the manual that I downloaded (& my Pro) the JMicron IDE controller & LAN should be under Integrated Peripherals: Onboard PCI Device not Onchip.

Sorry, that's a typo on my part. The OnChip option shows the audio controller. I mean Onboard.
