I doubt it'll be the board you'll have to worry about it fitting, but rather it allowing you to put the side panel of your case back on. :)

I'm using the same mobo/cpu with a Cooler Master TX2.
The TX2 is a little out of its league on the Quad.

Doesn't someone sell a "back-plate" to convert my TX2 to a "bolt-down" style cooler??

Let me get in a plug for an underrated cooler. I got the Rosewill RCX-Z775-EX at a good price bundled with a Q6600. It uses a quiet 92mm fan and is smaller and lighter than the big dogs, but it definitely does the job.

I'm at 3.5ghz, idling at 36-38c and running 58-62 with all four cores loaded to the max. That's on an Abit IP35.

It's a bolt-on unit with a quality look and feel. Works with Abit's bios speed and heat controls. Unless you're shooting for the sky on your overclock, it's worth considering.

I have an Ultima 90 and it fits fine so i'm guessing the Ultra 120 extreme will too.

The U120Extreme fits on the Abit IP35s (I'm using the Dark Raider, but I've seen it on the E and the Pro as well). FWIW, the whole config will fit in an Antec P182 with room to spare.

uses different mounts

You may run into some problems, mounting the ultra120. I havent hoenstly tried it on a IP35-E.

But ive seen people install them. Only problem tho, you may have to orientate it so the fan pushes up and not sideways due to the NB sink.

I have the same MB and HS. Got the Thermalright Bolt-Thru kit from Siderwindercomputers.. You have to take the fan/plastic shroud off the HS to install the screws.

I need to make a sticky make sure everyone gets all the info but, to anyone buying an U120X:

When you get it, check it VERY closely to make sure the base is not convex as every cooler they've made in the last 4 months or so has come off the line with a convex base that will require lapping to get good and even temperatures out of it. Crazy PC will do the lapping for you upon ordering for $17 or you can pick up a sandpaper pack at most automotive parts stores and do it yourself. I've seen some that were off as much as a 1/16 across, worse diagonally.
