Hi ,

Ive never had an ABIT motherboard before so i dont know that much about them .

I had a P4 2.6c GHz 800FSB HT chip with a DFI Lan Party 875PRO motherboard , and that chip done about 3.6 GHz in that board with temps of about 42 - 44 max .

Now i have a P4 2.8c GHz 800FSB HT with an ABIT IC7 and the temps are about 44-45°C on default 2.8GHz settings ?

Im using the same heatsink fan its a REALLY good fan it used to cool my P4 2.6c to about 34-35°C at default settings.

Can anyone tell me why this chip is running 45°C on default settings ?

I overclocked it to 3.2 GHz and it went up to 52°C ... and the lowest i can put the vCore is 5.25v .

[ ohh btw , i have a Lian Li case thermometer thats reading 32-34°C when the ABIT/Winbond reading are 45°C ]

and when i put MBM on the temp reads at 97°C and the PC shuts down ?

but i wasent sure if it was ABIT or ASUS boards couldn't really remember .

The temps in the BIOS are different from what MBM report. I'm guessing MBM is more accurate but I could be wrong.

Just remember, if it passes all stress tests @ ur speeds ur OC'ing, ur cpu is cool enough. My IC7-G is sweet, and even got it to OC a refurbished 2.4 to 3.384 :)... well after I lappaed that sucker. I was just gunna remove the IHS altogether, but changed my mind @ the last second in case I get a new HS/Fan that is not compatable with a IHS'less CPU.
