im looking at buying this drive

DRIVE LINK

but will the ic7-max3 support the features that this drive offers? im especially curious as to whether this board supports NCQ.

i willingly admit that i have little or no knowledge as to what NCQ actually does.. but the little i've read about it got me all hot and bothered. :)

would it be a waste of money to buy this drive? will my board support the features this drive offers or should i buy another drive instead?

thanks for any help

If there's a cheaper Seagate without the NCQ, get it. Your board doesn't support it, but it doesn't make too much of a difference in performance, either.

NCQ doesn't make much difference for a home desktop. More useful in a server enviroment.
