Abit IC7 Max3 OTES Shut Down Problem

I have a Problem with my Abit IC7 Max3 OTES setup, that I'm pretty sure is attributed to the NorthBridge Overheating. A couple of weeks ago the Heatsink on the NorthBridge started Squealing intermitently, and now The system shuts down, and won't stay operating.

System:
Abit IC7 Max3 OTES Mobo
P4 3.0E 800 FSB
1 GB Geil Ultra Dragon PC 3200
Asus 5950 Ultra 256 Meg 8X AGP
2 x 60 Gig Maxtor 8 Meg 7200 Ultra Ata (Win 98SE)
2 x 60 Gig Maxtor 8 Meg 7200 SATA Drives, (Win XP Pro)
MSI 8X DVD +- RW

What I need to know is there anyone else out there running on I875 Chipset Mobo's that have had similar problems. And feedback would be greatly appreciated.
tia.

Anybody???? LOL! Just about everybody whom bought the IC7/IS7 and a few others......There are some nice aftermarket northbridge coolers available at NewEgg and other online retailers by Zalman, Vantec, etc..

I sent an email to Abit Support but still haven't heard from them yet. I will probably Order a H20 Cooling system, and see if that doesn't help. It won't operate for more than a minute now, without shutting down completely.

Have you checked to see if the northbridge fan is even spinning? Man that's a lotta Hds, why are you running 2 versions of windows anyway?

They'll try to tell you they have an identical replacement for free..............then they'll charge you $6 shipping! LOL! If you wanna O/C that Pressie, yeah, look into H2O for the best results.
