Just a few quick questions for ya all:

1) just wondering if this board's i875 chipset is the best out there right now ?
2) is the sata integrated in the southbridge with this board/chipset ?
3) what is the difference between the 875 and 865 ?
4) how good is via's PT800 chipset ?

thanks

1) I'd say this and the Asus P4C800-E are at a dead heat.
2) Yes
3) PAT -- although most i865PE boards have a pseudo-PAT built in.
4) It's good, probably lies inbetween the i865PE and the i875. But AFAIK, Abit is the only manufacturer with a board, but I do not think that it has penetrated the market.

alright thanks all

See I have a 1.8 P4M that I need a motherboard for

I'm debating whether to spend 220 bucks and get an 875 or just go with 80 bucks and get an 845
I like abit so i will prob go with them
recently asus hasn't been treating me right

but it's more of a question about which chipset I want to pay for

my laptop broke so i'm just gonna sell the mem and hard drive and use the cpu in a desktop machine

Wow... It's all or nothin'?
An 845 is old school now, I'd bump to the 865PE at least.

You could spend $141 and get an Abit IS7-G (865PE) from Game VE. ;)
