This is what Abit has to say on their webpage:

Game Accelerator Technology: We initially thought this was a technology that was only showing up on ABIT's 865 boards, but ABIT has confirmed to us that MAX3 boards will ship with GAT capability. We weren't able to move past the "Turbo" setting, but that may have been our RAM. At this point, GAT appears to achieve its performance benefit through adjusting the northbridge latency and memory timings, though this may vary at different settings. The board ships with GAT set to "AUTO" which also happens to mean "Disabled."

i can't get any of the GAT settings to work without giving me BSOD (at any speeds)

but you might have better luck
the faster the setting you can get the better

good luck

I'm running 1gb (512x2) of PC4000 HyperX ram, I can't touch GAT w/o getting beeps. I also had some PC3200 before my current RAM that ran at CL2-5-3-2 (good RAM), I could set it to streetracer but thats it. I wouldn't worry too much about GAT, not sure how much performance boost it really gives. If its alot, why wouldn't other MB manuf. offer some sort of GAT?

It does give a lot of performance boost, and yes other manufacturers offer it. It's the PAT function of the i875 chipset. Up the ram volts to use it, mine runs up to ~230ish street racer @ 2-2-2-5 (or 2-2-5-2, forget where the 5 is :p) on my Max-3 but my vtt tracking is bugged and I can't get it stable much higher.

If you don't have double-sided sticks of ram, then turn on CPC if at all possible. This DRASTICALLY improves performance, but it doesn't work on most double sided ram (i.e. 512mb+ sticks). If you can get it to run, even at a lower fsb, it is worth it. A 30+ fsb increase is needed to offset the loss of performance turning CPC off. tRAD helps as well, and is less stressful.

I've ran F1 at 220 or so before but it barely improves performance. Street racer is the fastest for me. (gotta love ~4800 sandra unbuffered :))
