Abit IC7 BIOS CPU fan monitor doesn't register past 5,625

Fan is adjustable from 2,000 RPM to 6,000 RPM. When I watch the fan speed in the BIOS, it registers up to 5,625 and then immediately goes to zero if I turn the speed any faster. BIOS version is 26.
