Abit I35 Pro CPU Temp Alarm Went Off

Well just last night I was bragging about my Abit I35 Pro board, and Q6600 being the best PC I have put together, and it does this on me. Got up this morning, hit the power, go get coffee, walk back in, and BAM, the motherboard beeper sounds like a cop car siren, WTF? Abit Uguru monitor shows a CPU temp of 82C. Hit the power button, but I did notice the CPU fan is spinning just fine. My Q6600 is not overclocked. Power back up, no alarm, go in the bios, temp is fine. The HSF is not loose. The only thing I can figure is the motherboard temp sensor had a brain fart.

Any other ideas?
Thanks

Are you sure it wasn't a cop car siren? :D

If you're sure you're doing it right, disable the warning. I do that and monitor the cpu temp with a program. Just set shutdown temp in bios if possible.

Yeah, I have the shutdown temp enabled within the bios. The Uguru monitor is within windows, and that's where I noticed it said 82C
There is no way it hit 82C with the HSF working

I see a lot of those, from me and my machine, and don't get worried until they happen repeatedly......until they happen repeatedly......until they happen repeatedly......until they happen repeatedly......until they happen repeatedly......

Uh Oh.......

Thanks hippie man,.Homeland Security has mandated a new illicit smoke alarm feature for all bios now, so I think your Abit board alarm is notifying homeland security when a certain type of smoke drifts by...party on dude.....

I'm using the 6A79OA1BC-14. I still get the double boot problem, but not very often

Thanks, as long as it isn't the DEA, I'll be OK!

you shouldn't get double boot on an IP35 Pro.

Well, I call it the double boot. Like when I checked in the bios for the temp settings, and PF10 to save the settings, the PC turned off, then 2 seconds later it came back on. Maybe I'll try to flash the bios in case it's corrupt.

ah OK, you'll get that on 14 when saving new BIOS settings - it's not what is generally thought of as the double boot though.

when a mobo does the on/off/on from a cold start but an IP35 Pro shouldn't do that.
Normally that is caused on a P35 by the chipset setting the strap but uGuru seems to get involved with that on an IP35 Pro so it doesn't.

It's just saving the settings.

Absolutely normal.

The OP problem was just a BIOS fart.

My IP35 does that when you change setting in the BIOS, press f10, switches off then on and away we go.....all good!

To be exact, if cpu/ram settings are changed, P35 may do double-boot or power cycling. Other settings don't trigger this.

That's interesting, mine did it yesterday just by changing the CPU shutdown temp in the bios.
