I just bought a new nVIDIA card and am having problems with video out. Was hoping someone could help me.
Abit BH6 Rev 2.0 w/ S-Video Out
Abit Siluro GeForce 2 MX
Windows 2000
128 MB Ram
1995 Sony 32" TV - KV 27V10
On the cd that is included is the ABit drivers based on the nVIDIA 5.32 ones. I install these, restart the computer and do the following:
- set screen to 640x480x256
- Output Device Tab
- select TV
- select the Canadian region(NTSC format)
- select the auto select output(I have S-Video though)
it then prompts me to restart the computer to ensure proper configuration settings. I restart the computer and it boots fine. Finally just as the windows screen is about to show up the monitor goes into power saving mode. So i turn on the tv, check channels 3 & 4 - nothing. Then I check video 1, 2, 3 - nothing. Needless to say i restart with the s-video card unplugged.
I found out that the newer nVIDIA drivers have the Clone Monitor function thing in them and not the 5.** so that's why my monitor is going into power saving mode.
I have also tried the newer 6.47 and 7.17 drivers with the following results:
- same settings as above
This time it doesn't ask me to reboot, it reconfigures the monitor and asks me if i want to keep these settings. I reply yes, then turn on the TV and cannot see anything at all. Although this way it keeps the monitor on, which I think is the effect of the Clone Monitor feature.
Could you please help me, thanks.
