ABIT FATAL1TY AN8

Well, I've decided against SLI for the time being and have picked this board to build a system with. Was going to order tonight and was curious if you guys think this would be a good build or does something stand out as needing changed. Any thoughts are greatly appreciated, it will be my first build with help from a friend. I game a ton and am currently using a Dell inspiron notebook with a 2 Ghz processor, 64 MB video card, and 512 Ram, yes it sucks :disgust: Again, any opinions are appreciated, thanks in advance.

Do you really have to go with that board?
I'd go with the MSI K8N Neo4 Platinum.
~The rest of your specs look good though, I just don't trust Abit too much anymore..

Looks great. I have had very good luck with ABIT boards (all intel though). No failed boards in the last two years I have been running them with pretty high overclocks.

One of the best nForce4 Ultra motherboards available, the only con is the price (around $30 more than the other ones). Definitely better than the MSI if you ask me.

DOH...lol.....hmm....that might add an interesting twist. Are they available yet anywhere, I could'nt find them. Any links or prices..?

In addition, they've also introduced recently the AN8 v2 (nForce4) & AN8 Ultra (nForce4 Ultra).

I have a fatal1ty and love it and I bought it because of msi. I also have a msi k8n neo4 plat in a box on my dining table that needs to go back to msi because it's a pos. This is my 2nd neo4 and it lasted only marginally longer than the first. It was my first and last msi product. I also have a dfi lanparty nf4 ut ultra-d on another machine and it's also stable and reliable.

My ABIT AV8 hasn't been very good. Already one RMA, it reports the temperatures incorrectly in BIOS, as well as doesn't handle my voltage settings properly..
