Abit BX6 - Windows 2000 shut down problems

I have an Abit BX6 (rev 1) mobo, and after selecting "Shut Down" in Windows 2000, it gives the "It's now safe to shut down your computer" instead of actually shutting the system off.

I recently built a new system with this mobo, but it's using the same PS, CPU, vid card, and RAM. It has a different PCI EIDE card (old system had a Promise Ultra 100 TX2, while the new system has a Maxtor [Promise] Ultra 100), and a SB 64 Gold ISA sound card (instead of the SB Live in the old system). Also a different NIC (old was generic, new is DLink).

What could be causing this? It's not *that* big of a deal, but it is a hassle having to hold down the power button to shut down the system! 😛

Do you have the latest bios on your motherboard? Have you checked to see if ACPI is turned on in the bios? You might have to force Win 2K to install the ACPI kernel. 🙂
