abit bx6 v2 and geforce compatibility

I have an older abit bx6 v2 system that I wanted to put a geforce2 mx400 card (PCI) in (it currently has a TNT2 AGP card). Unfortunately, the BX6-2 won't even POST with the card in. Anyone know what the PCI version is for this motherboard? I couldn't find anything in my manual, and abit docs on older motherboards is pretty much nil.

I've read of hints of possible power problems with this mobo w/ geforce cards, but not sure how real that info was.

Although I haven't tried this yet, someone suggested enabling VGA palette snooping in the bios.

Any information on newer cards that will work with this motherboard would be appreciated. I wonder if I'd have better luck with a newer AGP card, rather than PCI. I don't know if the AGP spec has changed as much (other than speeds) as the PCI spec since the board was released, but I'm assuming the problem is a PCI incompatibility.

I have an Abit Bx6v2 with a GF2 card and haven't had any problems. I don't know about the GF4's, but is there that much power difference?

Is your geforce 2 card an AGP card, or PCI? I'm assuming AGP, but want to double check.

Just for my info, can you tell me the card name/manufacturer? I'd like to be able to upgrade the video on this machine to at least a geforce 2 level if possible, and if you have a card that'll work, that'll give me a place to start.
