Well I got this mobo in the mail for the cost of shipping, but heres my problem: He flashed the bios and screwed it up somehow, put in new bios chip from abit and the board still won't boot to the bios. No beeps or anything! All that I need in the board to get into the bios is the cpu, ram, and video card right? What else can be done with this board to fix it or should I just toss it in the trash??

Thx

ohhh you bought a bad board. . . (maybe) trying taking out the cmos battery for a little. If that doesn't work the board is proably bad.

yes all you need is video, ram, cpu.

No beeps could also mean that the CPU needs to be reseated. The slot 1 boards sometimes need to be reseated a few times. Also, try gently rocking the CPU in the slot. I have the same mobo and once had to reseat my CPU about 5 or 6 times to get it to boot. I've had the problem only once since then, though.

Other possibility is that the new bios was seated incorrectly - either backwards (seen that) or not completely (seen that too). Also may have bent pins. If the thing doesn't post (beep) with just the CPU in, good chance may be other things wrong - grounding for one thing. Try reseating the board in the case.

Unfortunately, board may be done for if none of this works.
