Hi Maxcom, I have my celeron 2 566 running at 877. Basically the multiplier is fixed by the chip and the motherboard has no effect on this. The motherboard only affects the bus speed. I think you can use any P3 on this mobo. I'm using a Iwill slocket 2.

on the bx-6 rev 1 ? seems i heard that voltage may be a problem on the coppermines but a 566 overclocked like yours would be fine for me

I have a 566 Celeron II running at 850 on a BX6 R1. It will do 950 but it is not stable. Also, I can't run win2k on it while it is overclocked passed 700. I don't think I am processor limited but limited by the ABIT Slotket III/Motherboard combination. I was going to get a CUSL2-C to replace it with but now I am looking at the MSI K7T Turbo and a 1GHz AMD processor. The MSI K7T Turbo is due out next month so I think I can wait.

Hope this helps...

AtomClock, thank you very much for the response, 850 is plenty for me right now. I'm going to try that. The 566 + slocket seems pretty cheap and easy. My system has the following:

Enlight 7237 w/300w
Abit bx6 rev. 1
256 meg Crucial 133 cas 3 ( 2x128 )
Seagate Medalist Pro 4.5 gig ( one of the first 7200 rpmers :)
Diamond Viper V770 TNT Ultra 32 meg (agp) w/ Viewsonic 19" A90
Diamond Viper V330 8 meg (pci) w/ Panasonic 17" PanaSync
Ensoniq 16 bit sound card (pci)
Celeron 400 ( won't EVEN overclock )
Toshiba XM6202B 32x cdrom
Motorola SURFboard SB4100 Cable Modem
Encore PCI 10Mbps nic

Eithor... The only real difference is the retail one comes with a fan. I like the golden orb. It is easy to install, it works better than the retail fan, it is pretty cheep and it looks pretty cool. I would not go with the Abit slotkit, I would go with some other brand if I had to do it over again.

Im looking to upgrade my rev 1.0 also. Any reason a P3 800 100mhz FSB wouldnt work? It supports 100 x 8 multiplier, not sure about voltage but I assume it would support it.
