The latest bios (QR) does not recognize the 633. I have seen 633 OC'd at Overclockers.com run in bx6-2 boards. What is the secret? Is there another bios that accepts the 633?

Also, when in setup, the rt1 temp shows 47-49, which seems high since the rt2 is nearer to 30. I am using an MSI-6509 slotket. Ideas?

The multiplier's locked on the cpu so even if u don't choose that multiplier as the correct one, the m/b will automatically detect it. You can then vary the bus speed to overclock it.

Thanks!

I tried 100 mhz, but it would not boot. If the bios is not stopping it, then could the temperature differences be the problem. I am water cooled.

I have not tried another speed since I had to remove the processor and replace it with the old processor to get it to boot again.

You should try bus speed of 75...then 83...then 100. Maybe ur CPU can't hit 100?

I have 667 Celeron running at 997 or so on a BX6r2 with QR bios. It was no problem to set up at all. Is yours running 633 (ie. 66FSB)? Mine is Cb0 but I'm not sure what difference that makes.

Sorry guys, ... just in from work.

I have the processor back in at 66fsb and I don't have the number written down, so I will have to take 'er down to get that. But I wanted to reply first. I do recall that it is a Malay SL3VS with the FPO/batch# Q039????, I believe, but I could be wrong about the 39.

Lark, your QR does not recognize the 633 in bios setup does it? Mine only goes up to a multiplier of 9 for the Celery, so I must ignore the error message at boot. The rt1 temp on this MSI-6509 slotket rushes up to 47, so I think my themal compound may not forming a good bond with the cooler which climbs slowly up to 30-35.

Back with more numbers....
