Hi all,
Im using an ABIT BX62.0 and would like to upgrade to a faster processor. I dont want to mess with any slotkets, so my question is what is the fastest processor I could throw on there that is a slot-1 that the motherboard will support?

thanks

What's your highest BIOS multipler? What type of memory are running? What's your FSB? I think, I've seen people run 9 something in these boards.

I used a 850 FC-PGA on this guy.. the fastest 100FSB... I also have a 450@600 133FSB PCI/4 = 33Mhz...

Click on my web or click here to go straight

but you have to set the fsb and multiplier manually.. latest BIOS.. have no problem..

Except I had to buy a real PC133 Crucial for the 133fsb not to crash... used a Iwill Slocket II or abit slocket !!!

the fastest slot-1 P3 100 fsb cpu intel made was a 1 gig , however , according to this site..http://www.abit-usa.com/english/index.htm.. the fastset cpu it will support under the latest bios is 700 mhz. whether it will run a faster cpu than that i dont know , but if forcesho is running a 850 FC-PGA(with slocket) than you should be able to run a 850 slot-1.

It will support faster than 700 mhz, but the thing is it won't save the settings, so everytime you boot it says CPU has been changed, hit delete to enter setup and you have to setup your machine again to oc or whatever you had your bus at.
