Hi,
I have abit bx6 2.0 motherboard..
I checked the abit site to find out that with the latest bios, it's possible to use 700e processor on the motherboard.

I was wondering if anyone have any luck putting faster processor on the motherboard.
I am currently thinking about purchasing 800 or 850 mhz intel processor, but not sure if it will work on the abit bx6 2.0 board..

Thanks

Yes, you can set up the USER DEFINED FSB and match the multiplier to your CPU and it works fine.

I'm currently running a PIII-800E FCPA wi/IwillII slocket at 117 X 8 = 936MHZ.

Absolutely stable. I've seen reports of the 850's running fine as well

Be careful!

I tried to run a 650MHz Coppermine before the BIOS flash was out for that speed and I could NOT get the CPU to run. A friend of my with the same CPU did not have any problems though. I am not saying it won't work, but it may not.

Just make sure that you get the P3-800 that runs on the 100mhz FSB, the BX6 doesnt have a 1/2 AGP divider for the 133mhz chip...
