Abit BM6 and fc-pga PIII

Anyone think that a PIII 550 coppermine FC-PGA would work on an ABIT BM6, knowing that the BM6 natively supports the Celeron II FC-PGA @ 566 - 600 MHZ? The pinouts on the FC-PGA format being the same (I assume) on both the PIII & Celeron II, what would prevent me from using the PIII on this board? Thanks for any & all help.

Good question, hope you get an answer on this from somebody who has tried! Though as far as I know this is going to take a "neo" adaptor to work.

Nobody knows why the C2's work on the BM6 and the P3's don't. The posts I have read all say the Neo adapter is needed on the BM6 with the P3. I am still waiting to hear if anyone can overclock a C2 566 - 600 on a BM6 with the original bios. One would want this, because the original bios for this board has voltage from 1.3 to 2.3. The lastest bios high is set at 1.7.

Well, with the latest bios, my 533A runs at 840 at 1.7 without any problems. Sure would be nice to have a higher range in temp, though.
