Hey guys,

ok, here's what *stupid* me did..
I downloaded the bios update for my BH-6 board ("bh6_ss") and tried to flash my bios, since I need it for clocking my celermine 600. Anyways, I noticed it wasn't responding after a while, I was probably too impatient to wait for more than 5 min with no activity.
I exited after thinking it was done, and it started posting at 100 mHz, and then would hang after detecting the primary master device, before I can get into the setup to change the cpu back to 366.

Is there anyway for me to fix this without spending $$ on a new board?
Can I get a new bios chip somewhere, cheap, and fast?
Or better yet, have some way for it to boot off the floppy so i can re-flash?

thanks alot guys

make a boot disk with the correct BIOS bin file and use

awdflash new.bin /Py /Sn
in the autoexec.bat

if you can goto BIOS disable all drives except for floppy and set boot to drive a , c
if you can't pass the hd detection, try pulling the plug so there isn't a drive and use a ISA video card, if you dont have one, try without all the card except video.

well, download the right bios create a boot disk from a Win9X machine using

format a:/u/s

that'll copy the system files and stuff in there but create an autoexec.bat file with just that line. new.bin is the new bios file you got and just use the awdflash.exe line.. this is providing you can get to boot to disk//

And if none of that stuff works for you go to compucheap.com and order you a new bios chip. They are like $15.00.But be real carefull removeing and replaceing chip, the socket isnt very stout.I have used a dentists exploratory tool b4.

FWIW Two things (if it's not too late):

(1) - When it hung after detecting primary device, there 'should be' a msg at bottom of screen to either go into setup, or bypass

(2) - To flash:
Format a floppy in explorer, copying the system files
You need to copy both the NEW.BIN file, and the AWDFLASH.EXE file to the bootable floppy
Make the floppy the boot device in bios
Command to execute the flash is: A:\>AWDFLASH NEW.BIN /cc /cd /cp /py /sn /cks /r

Good luck.

brig-

It still had the "press delete to enter setup" but it was stuck.. no response when i did press it..
I asked Russ over at compucheap and they dont have any more in stock.
I emailed Abit directly, but their service is suck.
