HI Everyone,
Flashed my good old abit bx6 rev1 ( only second time I did this)......I flashed bx6qs.bin and the awardflash util kicked in and the bars went across my screen but stopped short of completing totally across. I powered down shorted the cmos jumper and rebooted.I think my last flash left the last 2 letters of the bios in the bootup screen. This time I get only 2A69KA1Ac-00 ( 2 zeros at the end)??? Also sis soft sandra TOTALLY locks my computer ..power button doesnt even work when I ask the program to check the motherboard info. I was hoping to see the bios version with it. I tried reflashing, same thing.....Sounds weird.

Any suggestions would be helpful,
Thanks,
Breeze

Doesn't sound good. If you're still able to boot, try booting from a clean bootable floppy and re-flash the bios. Honestly, yours is the first I've heard of a failed bios flash that didn't make the motherboard unusable.

I flashed from my hard drive from a folder I called bios...I will be making a bootable disk with the awardflash and a fresh download of the new bios...if not Ill have to go back to the older bios via a reflash and pass on win 2000 , The new bios was to correct a few stability problems for it.....Oh well wish me luck !!

Number one, are you sure you are using the corrent version of Awdflash.exe? Most boards including yours (I'm relatively sure) are using a newer 2Mbit bios chip that is only compatible with newer versions of awdflash. You need to download the newest version from abit or use the version they recommend.

Two, are you following Abit instructions for the flash? For instance, you are suppose to disable L1 & L2 cache, Disable video bios shadowing, etc. before flashing your board. Did you do this?

Make you are going step by step the way Abit's instructions run through.
